Matt Weinstein
Culinary Director
Matt Weinstein is the Culinary Director of Lodging for The Indigo Road Hospitality Group, overseeing culinary operations across the company’s lodging concepts while remaining based in Highlands, NC. A seasoned chef and leader, Weinstein brings creativity, precision, and a deep respect for seasonal ingredients to each property he supports.
Previously the Executive Chef of Oak Steakhouse at Skyline Lodge, Weinstein draws inspiration from the beauty and bounty of Western North Carolina—celebrating local produce and the rhythm of the seasons. His cuisine, described as new American with worldly influences, reflects both refinement and a love for the land.
Before joining the Highlands team, Weinstein led Oak Steakhouse Atlanta and helmed several acclaimed Atlanta kitchens including Biltong Bar, Woodfire Grill, TWO Urban Licks, Bully Boy, and ONE Midtown Kitchen. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, he also trained under renowned chefs such as Bryan Voltaggio.
Now based in the mountains with his wife, Markie, Executive Chef at Oak Steakhouse Highlands, Weinstein balances his time between the quiet pace of Highlands and his travels to culinary programs throughout The Indigo Road’s portfolio.
